An Atletico Madrid fan is in a serious condition after being stabbed ahead of the Copa del Rey clash against Sevilla.

The 22-year-old fan was reportedly stabbed three times in the back, arm and leg, according to Emergencias Madrid, before being taken to La Paz hospital.

The incident took place near the Las Musas metro station, with the Zapatones pub, which is a known favourite of Frente Atletico ultras, close by.

The local believe believe that no Sevilla fans were involved.
